What's New at MethodPunks: April 2026
Sherpa AI coach goes live site-wide, two new playlists ship, credits and pricing land, and 69 more methods are on the way. Here's what's new.

Big month. Sherpa is now live on every page. Two new playlists are live. Credits and pricing have shipped. And we have 69 more methods queued for May.
If you have been using MethodPunks for a while, you will notice the place feels sharper. If you are new, here is a quick tour of what landed between mid-March and mid-April.
It doesn't matter how many times you have failed - you only have to get it right once.
Meet Sherpa, your AI innovation coach
Sherpa is the biggest shift this month. You can now open Sherpa from any page, any method, or any canvas and get guidance that knows where you are.
A few things worth knowing:
- Our own fine-tuned model. Sherpa runs on an 8B Llama model we trained on the MethodPunks library, AWQ-quantised and hosted in the EU. Fast, private, tuned to how practitioners actually use these methods.
- Canvas-aware. Open Sherpa while working on a canvas and it picks up the method, your inputs, and your playlist context automatically. No pasting. No re-explaining.
- Follow-on prompts that help you move. Instead of generic "tell me more" suggestions, Sherpa offers next prompts tied to what you just did.
The result is less fiddling, more thinking.
Two new playlists shipped
Playlists are curated sets of methods that work together. Two new ones are live:
- Fundraising - pitch decks, term sheets, and the muscle you need to get to yes
- Understanding Data - turning raw numbers into product decisions
Both are ready to explore at /playlists.
Sequences got a proper redesign
Sequences are step-by-step paths through related methods. We rebuilt them this month with an accordion layout, category-coloured stripes, and a timeline connector so you can see the whole journey at a glance. One click to add an entire sequence to your playlist.
More sequences are in the pipeline.
Custom playlists, made properly
Custom playlists now have their own dedicated pages. The empty-state picker lets you either create a new canvas or pull in a recent one, side by side. Smoother flow, fewer modals in the way, faster to start.
Credits and pricing
We shipped a credits-based model for Sherpa and other AI features:
- A new pricing tier with Sherpa access and 100 credits per month
- Top-up credit packs for heavier users
- Your credit balance is visible in the navbar so there are no surprises
Self-serve cancel. Real prices. Consistent copy across the app.
Under the hood
Most of this is invisible, but you will feel the difference:
- Full security and performance audit across every priority level. Better security headers, rate limiting, cleaner error messaging, and a 404 page worth landing on.
- Persistent EU inference pod. No more cold starts for Sherpa. About 15 seconds faster on first response.
- Branded email system. Every transactional email now matches the MethodPunks look, from welcome through to password reset.
- Design system consolidation. Consistent hovers, icons, spacing, and typography across the app.
The short version: the app is tighter.
Three new reads on the blog
If you missed them:
- Where AI Gets Innovation Wrong - what AI still cannot do for your product team
- No Silver Bullet - why there is no single method that solves everything
- YC Fundraising Myths, Debunked - what actually gets you funded
What is coming in May
We are heads-down on 69 new methods across four playlists:
- Fundraising - pitch decks, term sheets, investor objection handling
- Growth Hacking - smoke tests, fake-door tests, dual-track agile
- Understanding Data - analytics fundamentals applied to product decisions
- Strategy - Blue Ocean, OKRs, Kotter's 8-step, stakeholder mapping, 70/20/10 portfolios
Target ship: end of May.
We have also started design and architecture work on Teams. No date yet but late May or early June is looking possible. If your team has strong opinions on how shared canvases and playlists should work, we want to hear them.
What is next for you
Three quick things you can try this week:
- Open Sherpa on a canvas you are working on. See how the context pipeline changes the conversation.
- Add a sequence to your playlist. The new timeline view makes it obvious what to do next.
- Tell us what is missing. The feedback page is the fastest way to get a method, playlist, or fix on our list.
Mark Cuban's line is worth sitting with. You do not need every feature to land. You need the right one to land. This month we think Sherpa is that one. Let us know.
